A The Doors együttes gitárosa, egyik énekese, és dalszerzője
volt 1965-1973 között, amíg az együttes működött.
(Bár azóta is többször összeálltak egy-egy rövid időre.)

Kezdetben minden dalt közös szerzeményként adtak meg,
később Jim Morrison szerzeményei kerültek előtérbe, majd
Jim Morrison tragikus halála után ő is, Ray Manzarek is, és
